On October 14, 2025, Paris Brain Institute America (PBIA) held its 3rd annual dinner in New York. PBIA, Paris Brain Institute’s sister organization, is chaired by Martine Assouline, joint president of the Paris Brain Institute Friends Committee. This important event brought together members of the philanthropic and scientific communities who are committed to supporting research to fight neurological and brain diseases.
The evening was also attended by Professor Gérard Saillant, Honorary President of Paris Brain Institute, and was an opportunity to highlight progress made and the outlook for international research into neurodegenerative diseases.
A key partner of Paris Brain Institute
Paris Brain Institute America (PBIA) was founded to support and build on Paris Brain Institute’s projects in the United States, and provides a platform for philanthropists, patrons and scientific partners in the US. Its mission is to strengthen transatlantic scientific collaboration, accelerate innovation and share discoveries for the benefit of patients.
Thanks to this active network, PBIA helps expand the Institute’s international reach and develop partnerships with prominent institutions. The PBIA is currently funding three projects:
- New pathways for combating glioblastoma: targeting tumor adaptability and improving immunotherapy, in partnership with Harvard Medical School
- A personalized approach to improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients affected by severe brain injury, in partnership with Columbia University
- A third project, which has just begun, is aimed at better understanding the role of blood vessels in Alzheimer’s Disease
Discussions are underway with other internationally renowned scientific partners in the US.
Inspiring scientific discussions
During the dinner, three globally renowned experts—Stéphanie Debette, Professor Phil De Jager and Professor Fanny Elahi—discussed the challenges of healthy brain aging.
Their discussions highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration for developing holistic strategies that address the challenges posed by brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
An engaged community
Paris Brain Institute would like to express its sincere thanks to PBIA, to its donors and patrons, and all of its US scientific partners. Their commitment makes a direct contribution to advancing knowledge and developing new therapeutic solutions for a deeper understanding, prevention and treatment of neurological disorders.
