Every year, the Le French Restream charity videogame marathon in aid of Paris Brain Institute brings together some of France's greatest runners.
The place to be for speedrun addicts
Speedrunning is a practice associated with video games in which the aim is to reach the end of a game in a record time of the order of a few minutes (whereas, under normal conditions, it would take several dozen hours). The practice of speedrunning is impressive in that gamers are capable of attempting and retrying the same video game (including old vintage titles) hundreds - or even thousands - of times, with the sole aim of beating speed records. As in an athletics competition, different categories are set up and gamers compete against each other according to predefined constraints.
Organised by the Le French Restream association, the event brought together top-level competitors, over thirty volunteers and 200 visitors over several days in a festive, friendly and family-friendly atmosphere, not to mention tens of thousands of internet users connected to the Twitch platform on which Interglitches was broadcast.
To mark the occasion, Paris Brain Institute is opening its doors and offering workshops to introduce curious minds to speedrunning, role-playing games and more. Researchers from Paris Brain Institute will also be on hand to introduce young and old to research and explain their work.
Paris Brain Institute would like to extend its warmest thanks to all the donors and the entire French Restream team for their incredible commitment every year.
