Ten Reasons to Support Paris Brain Institute

And commit to it

Last update: 20/11/2024 Reading time: 1min

Paris Brain Institute is a non-profit foundation recognized for the public good and authorized to collect donations and bequests.

It is thanks to your donations that the researchers of the Institute are making progress in their work and making promising advances against brain diseases.

10 Reasons to Support Paris Brain Institute

Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain tumours, paraplegia, depression… 1 in 8 people in Europe will be directly affected by one of these brain diseases. And with longer lifespans, the number of people affected could increase further.

Preventing, treating and curing these diseases is our challenge. A challenge that can only be met WITH YOU and the mobilization of all!

Based in the heart of the Hospital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière, the world’s cradle of neurology, Paris Brain Institute brings together doctors, researchers, entrepreneurs and patients. Exclusively dedicated to research on the brain and the diseases that affect it, the goal of Paris Brain Institute is clear: to accelerate as fast as possible the time between a fundamental discovery and its therapeutic application for patients.

Leading world experts from all walks of life and countries are developing leading-edge research at the Institute to understand how the brain works and find effective treatments for the diseases that affect it.

Our organisation was designed to promote flexibility, transversal and multidisciplinary collaboration between specialists from different fields. We are convinced that the decompartmentalisation of research and scientific synergies make it possible to stimulate creativity, open up new prospects and promote significant advances in research against brain diseases.

Paris Brain Institute is part of a global network of major neuroscience centres to conduct joint research programs. The ambition of the work carried out calls for close collaboration with French and international research centres.

In order to test and validate their hypotheses, researchers at the head of very high-level multidisciplinary projects have access to platforms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that is among the rarest in France and the world. As true research accelerators, they allow them to explore and observe the brain at all scales, analyze the results and draw the conclusions necessary to develop new therapeutic targets for the benefit of thousands of patients.

In its nearly 15 years of existence, the Institute has become one of the world leaders in neuroscience research, with many scientific advances to better understand the nervous system and treat the diseases that affect it. So much progress has been made in bringing the best therapeutic solutions to patients.

Your generosity is the driving force behind our action, and it is thanks to your donations that the Institute’s scientists are making progress in their work and making promising advances against brain diseases. The support of donors is essential to the pursuit of this ambition, since the collection of donations from the general public accounts for nearly 30% of the Institute’s budget. Financial transparency and rigorous management are integral to the functioning of the Brain Institute. The Institute’s financial reports are published annually and are available on its official publications page, which can be found here. The teams of Paris Brain Institute are committed to ensuring a very rigorous and transparent financial management, reaffirmed by the Don label in confidence that we have enjoyed since 2010.

  • 66% of the amount of your donation is deductible from income tax up to a limit of 20% of your net taxable income;
  • 75% of the amount of your donation can be deducted from the Capital Property Tax (IFI) up to the limit of 50 000€ deducted.
  • 60% of the amount of your donation is deductible from Corporate Tax up to a limit of 20,000€ or 0.5% of the turnover if your company makes less than 2 million € in donations per year. After that, the deduction is 40%.

It means taking concrete action to prevent, treat and cure diseases of the nervous system. It is also acting to allow as many people as possible to remain free of their movements and thoughts for as long as possible.

To enable researchers to move forward faster, and to give real hope to patients, the Brain Institute needs everyone’s support.
