Biography
Bruno Stankoff is a neurologist and professor of neurology at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), Paris. As MD-PhD, he trained in both clinical and neurobiology. During his Ph.D. (Inserm, Pitié-Salpêtrière), he studied the molecular and pharmacological mechanisms of myelin formation in the central nervous system, and identified several pathways of interest for remyelinating therapies. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at CEA on PET molecular imaging. He is currently in charge of the Multiple Sclerosis Centre at the Hôpital Saint-Antoine in Paris, and is co-leader of the research team entitled "Mechanisms of myelination and remyelination in the central nervous system" at Paris Brain Institute. He is currently developing molecular imaging tools to study remyelination, neurodegeneration and inflammation of microglia in MS.
Research
Imaging of tissue damage and remyelination in multiple sclerosis and experimental models. Head of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, Saint-Antoine Hospital.
