Biography
The team of Laurent Cohen, Lionel Naccache and Paolo Bartolomeo is dedicated to the study of cognitive functions developed exclusively or predominantly in human beings, in particular language and conscious cognition. The study of patients is central to his approach. For the study of language as well as consciousness, and with both healthy subjects and patients, the team is using state-of-the-art multimodal brain imaging and behavioural techniques.
Research
Lionel Naccache is co-leader of the Investigation team on clinically normal and abnormal cognition at Paris Brain Institute, and Professor of Physiology at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital and the University of Paris. He holds a Ph.D. (1998) and a Cognitive Science Thesis (2002). In 2009, he was nominated for the “Rising Star of Psychology” by the Association of Psychological Science, USA. He received the Le Goff, Lemonon, Houry, Laveran Award from the Academy of Sciences in 2011.
