Biography

Michel Mallat is Director of Research at INSERM. He holds a thesis in Neuropharmacology from Pierre and Marie Curie University (1984), a Ph.D. in Medicine (1987), and has directed research on the development or function of microglial cells since 1989. He is an external expert reader for several international scientific journals and participates in the teaching of neurosciences at the Master level.

Michel Mallat specializes in the study of microglial cells. His current research focuses on the activation and function of microglial cells in acute and chronic neuroinflammatory contexts, including brain tumours. In relation to public health issues, he coordinates multi-centre research programs focusing on the impact of environmental physical agents on neuroinflammatory responses.
