Motor neurons involved in the transmission of motor information from the brain to the spinal cord and peripheral organs.
There are 2 types of motor neurons:
- Central motor neurons, which are located in the central nervous system and carry nerve impulses from the brain and cerebellum to the spinal cord;
- Peripheral motor neurons, which receive nerve impulses from the central motor neurons and transmit them to the muscles.
