Defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "a state of well-being in which a person can achieve his or her potential, overcome the normal stresses of life, perform productive work and contribute to his or her community", mental health is an essential component of our health.
However, the WHO estimates that more than one in four adults will develop a psychiatric disorder in their lifetime. Anxiety and depression have even increased by 25% worldwide as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. These disorders are a major public health issue.
Researchers at Paris Brain Institute are mobilizing to better understand and combat psychiatric disorders, using innovative approaches to detect and treat them.
