Biography
Jean-Christophe Corvol is Professor of Neurology at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, Head of the Department of Neurology, Co-President of the French Network for Clinical Research on Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders (NS-PARK), and co-leader of the research team "Molecular Physiopathology of Parkinson's Disease" at Paris Brain Institute. JC Corvol has a background in neurology and pharmacology (MD in 2003). He has a Ph.D. (2005) in Experimental Neuroscience in Dopamine Signalling (Institut du fer à moulin, Paris) and a Post-doc in Neurogenetics (UCSF, San Francisco, USA). His areas of interest are the molecular bases, genetic modifiers and pharmacology of Parkinson's disease. The approach is cross-cutting, combining experimental designs, genetic association studies, imaging and genetic studies, and genome-wide association studies. JC Corvol has published over 200 original articles in refereed journals (H index=56). He is a member of the French Societies of Neurology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience, a member of the Steering Committee of the European Section of the MDS, and a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Movement Disorders.
Research
Dr. Corvol's areas of interest are the molecular bases, genetic modifiers and pharmacology of Parkinson's disease. The approach is cross-cutting, combining experimental designs, genetic association studies, imaging and genetic studies, and genome-wide association studies.
