The brain, the most complex part of the human body, manages our social behaviours, emotions and actions. Thanks to him, we are aware of the world around us, of ourselves and of others. But despite the considerable progress in science and technology, understanding of how it works is still very fragmented, and its pathologies represent major challenges for the health of humanity. Created in 2010, the Brain Institute has been designed to serve as a model for collaborative, interdisciplinary research that fosters innovation and discoveries that break new ground. This ecosystem, where patients, researchers, clinicians, engineers, technicians, entrepreneurs and students mingle, is now a leading centre for central nervous system research.
With passion and ambition, the Institute’s teams are working daily towards the same goal: transforming fundamental discoveries into therapeutic solutions, in order to make them available to patients and society as quickly as possible.
