A team of researchers from Inserm, CNRS, Sorbonne University and AP-HP at Paris Brain Institute in Paris has just deciphered how our brains behave when we procrastinate. The human study combines functional imaging and behavioural testing and has allowed scientists to identify an area of the brain where the decision to procrastinate is made: the anterior cingulate cortex. The team also developed an algorithm to predict the procrastination tendency of participants. This work is published in Nature Communications.
