"Exploration of sleep dynamics, circadian control and evolution"
I will present recent results of our explorations of sleep in a large lizard, the Australian dragon Pogona vitticeps. This diurnal animal presents unusual but fascinating electrophysiological sleep features, that proved to be very useful to explore mechanistic and evolutionary aspects of sleep among vertebrates. This talk will touch upon sleep dynamics, evolution, oscillatory dynamics, circadian control and upon possible links between sleep and hibernation.
