"Cerebral small vessel disease: genomics to mechanistic understanding"
Recent genetic discoveries along with technological advances in disease modeling have enabled in-depth studies on the mechanism that drive cerebrovascular disease. The presentation will focus on two major risk genes for cerebral small vessel disease (Foxf2 and Htra1) that illustrate two major aspect of SVD pathophysiology: endothelial dysfunction and remodeling of the extracellular matrix.
