Gene expression analysis (messenger RNA).
Transtranscriptomics is the discipline that studies the set of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) produced by genes in a cell or tissue at a given time. This set is called the transcriptome.
In other words, transcriptomics can tell which genes are "active", when and under what conditions. It is a snapshot of genetic activity.
