Ophélie Meunier, a figure in the French media landscape, becomes the patron of the Foulées du Cortex 2025. Having been particularly marked by the research of Paris Brain Institute, she will bring all her dynamism to this connected race, which will take place from September 17 to 28. Convinced of the importance of collective mobilization, Ophélie Meunier confides in her commitment to Paris Brain Institute.

How long have you been interested in brain disease research?

Ophelia Meunier_ A few years ago, I met Professor Gérard Saillant, President of Paris Brain Institute. I was struck by the way he talked about the challenges facing neuroscience and the role we can all play.

What was the trigger for your involvement with the Brain Institute?

In 2024, I had the chance to meet Olivier Goy, ambassador of Paris Brain Institute, and discover his courageous fight against Charcot’s disease, his determination to raise public awareness and to advance research. He reminds us that behind every diagnosis there is a life turned upside down, but also an immense strength and the hope that science will one day make it possible to defeat these diseases.

Do you think that combining sport with medical research is “obvious”?

Physical activity challenges us to be resilient, outgoing and persistent. These values are at the heart of research, where every step forward is the result of hard work, unwavering commitment and collective commitment. It is with enthusiasm and conviction that I join the Foulées du Cortex adventure as patron 2025, in order to support research and encourage everyone to take action to reduce neurological and psychiatric diseases.

What would you say to all those who still hesitate to sign up for the Foulées du Cortex?

Each and every one of us can make a difference. Let us take up this challenge together and prove that the union of sport and science can make a difference!

Ophélie Meunier is a TV and radio presenter.
