Pia mater: Deepest layer of the meninges.

Nervous Influx :: A message that circulates from one neuron to another in electrical form, also known as an action potential.
Neurological disease :: Disease affecting the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord).
Neuron :: Basic cell of the nervous tissue, capable of receiving, analysing, reproducing and transmitting information in the form of an electrical or chemical signal.
Neuroscience :: Neuroscience encompasses all scientific research into the nervous system, i.e. the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
Neurotransmitters :: A chemical molecule produced and released by a neuron which enables messages to be transmitted by attaching itself to other cells.
