Gene :: An element of a chromosome made up of DNA and responsible for inheritance.
Genome sequencing :: A method for reading the genetic code (DNA) of an individual.
Genomics :: Discipline that studies all the genetic material (genome) of an organism.
Glial cell :: A family of brain cells that surround neurons and allow them to function.
Glutamate (or glutamic acid) :: The most important excitatory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system.
